A-TEAMM Mentoring
The Ambassadors of the Evers Academy for African-American Males (A-TEAAM) Initiative is a mentorship program that inspires young males of color in primary and secondary schools to honor the life and live the legacy of Medgar Wiley Evers as they interact with a village of role models.
This program was initiated by the Community Engagement and Empowerment Network (CEEN), a group of volunteers in 21 community based organizations. This "village" of volunteers provide support and one-on-one guidance, utilizing a meaningful curriculum to empower these young men as they matriculate through school. The purpose of the A-TEAAM Movement is to improve the quality of life for young males of color by equipping them with the necessary skills, knowledge and support provided to them through guidance from caring mentors. These young people begin to make internal changes with an outcome of increased positive self-esteem and overall improvement in the way they view the world.
